Understanding a business
Company disclosures → operating model → valuation
My company research focuses on China’s restaurant sector, including Yum China. I work from annual and quarterly disclosures, earnings materials and other primary sources to understand the relationship between operations and financial performance.
The output is a research report supported by financial workpapers. Revenue, margins, cash flow and business-line differences need to be understood in context before they can support a valuation argument.
- Company and industry research.
- Historical financial and operating data.
- DCF and comparable-company valuation methods.

What AI changes economically
Capabilities → adoption → financial outcomes
A high benchmark score and an economically valuable workflow answer different questions. My research asks how model capability connects to tasks people perform, the cost of doing those tasks and the ways companies can charge for a product.
I have written on white-collar automation, consumer AI monetisation, historical technology transitions and AI for science. More recent work includes direct examination of deployed customer-support agents and the distinction between handling a customer request and reducing human work.
- Model capability and workflow-level evaluation.
- Consumer monetisation and AI investment returns.
- Scientific applications and the need to verify outputs.

Building the research workflow
Disclosures → review → ledgers → workpapers
I designed and developed a multi-agent workflow to help turn company disclosures and deep document review into financial ledgers and Excel research workpapers. This connects my engineering work directly to the analytical work it supports.
The useful output is something a researcher can inspect: organized numbers, clear source references and a structure that can be checked and extended. The tool helps prepare the material on which judgment depends.
- Structured document review and extraction.
- Financial-statement cleaning and organization.
- Reviewable Excel workpapers for further analysis.
